Honest Motherhood

This video is gut splitting funny. I absolutely LOVE it and I can't stop laughing. I relate to this woman on many levels--in my world when it rains it pours :)

Earlier this year I had a day that felt like this clip--allow me to elaborate. I was potty training my boy with only mild success and had spent the morning running errands and grocery shopping. Upon arriving home, said son got out of the car and began to pee his pants. We talked about using the bathroom while I cleaned him up and put on some fresh underwear. He wanted to play in the very small yard so I obligingly ceased current activity to pick up the dog's dung bombs from the grass. Shortly thereafter I began preparing dinner as I was cooking for our dinner group that evening (browning ground beef for chili). I then noticed my baby girl needed a diaper change--in other words number two had a number two. Post clean up and getting back to the kitchen; I noticed number one standing outside in the yard......just....standing.....and I knew. Number one had just number two-ed his pants. I addressed the problem, rather begrudgingly......OK I was pissed.....or was I pooped? Because. Really. How much sh** can one person handle in a day? And the icing on the cake? The browning beef burned. GAAAAAHHHH!!!!

First Posting

It's a tad humid outside and I just finished mopping the floors. I'm a bit sweaty. And this......is life as a stay at home mom in the finest of moments. It's not glamorous. It's not earthly award winning. But there's a lot of moms out there who, like me need to touch base with other moms just to see if my normal really is normal. This is Project Mom, the venture of parenthood so to speak. This is my new place to share the amusing anecdotes of life and hear what YOU have to say because really.....the facebook status updates I'm reading just aren't doing it for me anymore:

"Mmm....yummy, I just made (insert food) for dinner and it smells soooo good!"

"My hubby is so amazing he ___________(insert amazing-ness here)"

"(insert status update)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And some blogs....just too sickeningly sweet and happy. Forgive me if you fall in that category but I need more in a blog reading than vacations, family pictures (how often does one need new family pictures?) and perfect children. I'm no Debbie Downer, I do appreciate the gooey stuff. I like a happy ending to the story, but where's the twisted plot? character conflict?  Where's the REAL life in life? It's going to be right here. So stay tuned and comment often.
